Alright now I'm freaked out, I accidentally mis-reported my 3 AP scores on the UC app. I took English Lit/Comp, APUSH, and English Lang/Comp and got a 3, 2, and 2 respectively but I reported it as a 4, 3, and 3. I couldn't find my AP papers because it's honestly been like 3-4 years since I took the exams and they got jostled about in about a thousand papers. After going back through my filing cabnet because of omg-I've-done-something-wrong fears I found it... and lo and behold I've done something wrong.

Basically, what's the process I go about correcting this? Calling the colleges right? Is there still a way to make a note of it in the additional comments section on the Academic Update? It's still open but would it be smart to say something along the lines of "Error was made when providing AP Scores, the actual scores are x, x, x, please make a note of it." Do I have to mail anything in ahead of time? Really freaking out here. I don't want this to be the "thing" that screws me over. Any help would be appreciated!

rofl…

So you “accidentally” submitted scores that were conveniently 1 point higher on each test. What are the odds of that?

LOL looks like you’ll be going to Cal State Riverside…lolwut

There’s no need for sarcasm dude, I couldn’t find the scores and I had to try and remember them. YES, “accidentally” if I had the scores in front of me you think I would have made that kind of error? I knew the two tests were a point lower than the English Lit test and I just remembered wrong that it was a 4 when it was really a 3. I haven’t caught it yet because I put higher stock in my memory than that.

What schools did you apply to?..you should really call the schools, make a note of it in your app update and email someone from admissions at each school!

UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, UCSC… yeah, that’s what I figured I should do. I’m trying to get an urgent response from the TAP counselor for specifics. I got nervous cause there was this nagging feeling I’d done something wrong and this was the only thing I couldn’t account for. I’m freaking right the hell out. Thanks Samyrahlee.

Don’t be mean. There’s no need for that.
I would call one of the admissions offices tomorrow and ask what the proper process is, I think we can only give suggestions that may not be correct. Just call and ask.
I did read somewhere that the AP scores aren’t actually used for admission to UC, just credit once in. I, personally, think you’ll be fine. Good luck all the same! (:

Thanks! I’m gonna take Samyrahlee’s advice and make a note on the UC app, hopefully in a few hours the TAP counselor will get back to me, she’s good about that. Trying to relax and not freak out.

On my tag app for ucsb I forgot to put a school that I attended a few summers ago. So, I called admissions and they were really cool about it and said it’s okay as long as I notified them about it blah blah… I know it’s not the same as your situation but if you tell them I’m sure they’ll understand.

Good Luck!

Here’s my note on the update, let me know how it sounds:

Please note that during the initial application an error was made in regard to the AP scores, the correct scores are as follows:
English Lit/Comp 3
English Lang/Comp 2
US History 2
Dates are still correct

Please accept the corrected versions of the scores with sincere apologies for the error. Admissions will be further notified. Thank you.

I feel like i’ve left something out.

Sounds great! As mentioned, these are not used for admission processing, but only for getting credit and placement in those subjects if you score a 3 or higher. If you are accepted and decide to attend a school, you will have to provide the ‘official’ scores via CollegeBoard.com anyway. They might raise an eyebrow if you don’t let them know in advance that you self-reported incorrect scores but with the prior notification I bet you’ll be fine.

Yeah, lol I’m just wiggy cause I know I already have to probably appeal to UCLA because my GPA jumped (as of 1 week from now) from 3.03 to 3.4X w/ TAP. I have to send an appeal form for the Cal Grant for the same reason. Screwy ain’t it? SBCC wouldn’t let me file Academic Renewal for 2 years but then changed it sometime between January and February from 2 years to 1 and it takes them 6 weeks to process. At least it can still be done. -Trying to relax-

Alrighty, I have an update, I’ve called all 5 colleges and let them know, it seems like everything’s okay now! I’m just a wee bit confused cause Irvine and Santa Barbara both had something about “use our internal UC update to let us know” and I can’t seem to find anything. On Irvine I just took a stab in the dark and figured they actually meant “send us a message” and I haven’t found anything for Santa Barbara yet (I’ve been busy/resting the last 28 hours) so I’m gonna take care of that and see how it goes.

At San Diego I got some weird auto-reply email that said something about “confirm your changes with this update form” that require me to log-in with an ID I don’t have so that part I’m not sure about I called them and got transferred to the AP department so I don’t know if who I got the 2nd time knew what I meant. If I have to I can retrieve my ID and get the form if I actually need to file it but has anyone here ever had that experience?
