Accountancy

I just had a couple of questions:
1.) I know that most states require 150 credit hours to sit for the CPA exam. I was wondering if they count the credits your university gives for passing Advanced Placement exams? If so, is there a maximum number of credits that can be awarded from AP exams toward the 150?
2.) For admission to most Master's in Accounting programs is there the "unofficial prerequisite" of work experience like there is for admission to an MBA program?
Thank you in advance for your help.

No work experience prereq, although I believe you have to take the GMAT. Yes AP courses count its just more college credits on your transcript. (Pretty sure)

1.) You have to check with your particular state, but, in general, they count them as long as they appear on your transcript. I highly recommend getting confirmation from NASBA or your State Board of Accountancy if possible (I had a hell of a time with the application process, myself, and think it's best to make sure there aren't any uncertainties before risking your $700 application fee). I don't believe that there is any limit as long as you satisfy the other requirements for specific accounting and business courses, but, again, check with your particular state.

2.) No. Most MAcc programs are made specifically to help you fulfill the 150 credit requirement after finishing your undergrad.

1) ryanbis has it completely covered.

2) MAcc's are mostly set up as a dual-degree program (i.e. Wisconsin-Madison only allows its own undergrads to do its MAcc), and there is no experience requirement. Nevertheless, many a business professor/professional has advised me to do an MBA in lieu of a MAcc to complete the 150 hours requirement for obvious reasons. One being that the MBA doesn't have a tendency to "pigeon hole" your career.
