Penn State (state school) - Likely
Indiana Kelley(Auto Admit)- I would need some merit aid to go here. Do my stats allow any aid? I think so

Might also look at Holy Cross-top25 school with very good accounting program. HC HAS NICE campus 1 hour from Boston and a great alumni network which helps in job placement.

@par72 but no accounting major

thx for chancing at me btw

ACT looks solid but you should take some SAT 2’s

Indiana Kelley(Auto Admit) - probably a match. Definitely look into financial aid or any type of special scholarships that the college may offer. I know Wake Forest offers like 4-5 different scholarships that pay full tuition, so they may have it too.

@JuniorBengal Thanks for the chance, but I do not think I have the stats for a scholarship at Work Forest.

From what I see I agree with the chances to your colleges. I would see:
Emory College (ED) - low reach
Notre Dame Mendoza- Reach
Boston College Carroll- low Reach
and the rest being matches/safties.
I think if you get ACT to a 34 atleast you should be safe there. A 33 would be helpful too but aim for 34+.
As for your GPA i read it as 3.6 uw out of a 4.0. I really do believe this needs improvement and if you have a very good increase your junior year that shows an upward trend. But honestly I believe a 3.6uw is a little low for the competitive colleges. Your GPA may be more of a liability to you than your ACT.

@AlwaysBorderline hopefully I can see another increase, my weighted GPA Freshman year was a 3.85. Sophomore year it become a 3.97, so hopefully Junior weighted GPA will go to 4.15 because of the three AP’s.

The only problem I’ve seen is that colleges consider unweighted GPA more heavily. The weighted GPA just signifies your course load. But an upward trend can heavily impact your chances. Showing that you can take risks and learn from mistakes can definitely show in an upward trend.

@AlwaysBorderline My UW is a rough estimate because my school does not report it but freshman- 3.57 and Sophomore-3.65. I am positive that my GPA has been increasing but I do not know the exact number. Junior year UW should be around a 3.7, so a cumulative of 3.65 at the end

@RugbySingh That makes sense. If I were you I would try contacting counselor and seeing if you could get your UW GPA or try recalculating it yourself. Honestly I think it could make the difference in your admissions. Im assuming UW is out of 4.0 at your school. I would advise you to try to get as close to a 4.0 if not a 4.0 UW throughout your junior year. That would be a SIGNIFICANT increase in your chances.

My preference of colleges from my list goes- Emory, USC, Richmond, Notre Dame, BC, BU, Wake Forest, Kelley, Bentley/Lehigh

Bump

Consider Bucknell’s newly accredited program and Holy Cross does have an exclusive acctg program …need to be admitted with proper grades and progression after freshman year - they only take 32 students into the program.

@pardullet Thanks for the info I will surely look into Holy Cross’s program and Bucknell’s program.

Lehigh is NOT a safety. It costs too much to be a safety. AND they only accept 30% of their applicants.

@AnnieBeats I think that Lehigh is not a safety because of my GPA, but the cost of it is cheaper then the other colleges. It is giving good need-based-aid on NPC’s

I’d say that you have a pretty decent shot at all of those schools, but it’s hard to tell without AP’s or SAT II’s. Colleges look at that, so it might reflect poorly, even if your school doesn’t allow AP’s below grade 11. I’d say they are mostly reaches, just pull up your standardized testing and take as many AP’s as you can handle. If your high school accepts dual credit, you can even knock out some classes during the summer at a community college to take more AP’s. And, assuming that you’re talking about Boston University School of Management, there’s really no way to chance you. Any graduate school’s chance of accepting you depends largely on your accomplishments in your first four years of undergrad. My mother is a director at PwC, and all of the schools you chose are great for the path towards partnership, but don’t be discouraged if you don’t get into one of them! There are plenty of other good schools!
