Accounting class vs AP history class

I want to major in Finance and have been struggling to decide between an Accounting class and either AP World history or Psych. I’ve been leaning towards the AP class because AP classes have an overall better rep and it can also bump up my weighted GPA once I do well, whereas the accounting class is a regular class and would not help my weighted GPA. Any tips on what class I should take are appreciate.

Do you already have a history class for Junior year? How many history classes have you so far taken?

@ambers58 I’ve taken AP Human Geography and AP US History already.

So no history class for the coming school year? If so, I’d go with AP World.

I just got an email back from my counselor. And I can take an early bird class which means I have a class slot open during the day. So this means I can take both AP Psych and World or should I replace one of the with accounting? Another thing the AP World teacher went to my dream school and was a crazy athlete there and I could possibly get her to write one of my rec letters also.

I’d say in that case go with AP World and accounting as you want to be a finance major and have an extra early slot; AP World is also generally considered more difficult than AP Psych. But if you want to take both APs, go for it; I barely studied for Psych and got a 4 – as long as you pay attention in class and know the names of famous psychologists and the parts of the brain/nervous system, you should pretty easily get at least a 4, if not a 5.
