Accounting Information System (accounting and Management information system)

Hi,

There is a major about Accounting Information System. I know MIS is one of the highest paid jobs today and accounting is one of the best business degree to earn. So, my question, is accounting information system good or its better to take either accounting or MIS separately?

Thanks

I was in that major(sort of), 40 years ago. At that time PC was not invented yet and Accounting was and still is…Accounting…

Anyway, I worked in each field for 10+ years each. Start as an accountant and later on switch into IS. It gave me some satisfactions, but I think it would be better if you concentrate on one subject first, like get a degree in IT/IS first then get an MS or MBA in Accounting would be more optimum. You can also get an Accounting degree, get an CPA then take IT/IS in your masters. If you mix Accounting and IS together, you do not get deep enough in either subject and ended up not being able to function well in a job.

Thank you artloversplus for your reply. It makes sense what you say, so which option is better to get the degree in IT/IS and then the MS or MBA in Accounting or get a degree in Accounting, then CPA and then a master in IT/IS?
