Accounting Major on Wall Street as an IB?

Do accounting majors get gigs on wall street other than as accountants?

yes, plenty of them.

Absolutely. Have a good GPA and extracurriculars that show interest in the area, and accounting majors can acquire any career in finance.

^eh, not any career. Investment banking, equity research and asset management all look for and take accounting majors. Trading, risk or Portfolio management will be more challenging.
Any Quant job will not take accounting majors without significant graduate level coursework.

bump. still looking for input please

Not trying to be rude but, honestly, it’s already been answered. You can definitely get an IB job with an accounting degree.

I’m pretty sure you can get most finance jobs with an accounting degree (nonquant) and not the other way around. I was thinking about going for accounting, then I figured that finance would be better for IB, but they teach English majors how to do the job so it doesn’t seem absolutely essential. No longer looking to break into IB though.
