I know this question has been asked numerous times but everyone's situation is unique so I thought I'd see if anyone has any advice for me. I recently graduated from a community college with and associates of science and I took some economics and accounting courses. I enjoy them both but I'm hearing two different stories. I hear that accounting is very marketable and job security is good. On the other hand I hear that accounting has a lot of graduates and is very competitive and job security is diminishing with all the graduates. I hear economics is well respected and with the right minor can be just as lucrative. Again I also hear some bad things about economics. My situation is this, I will be going to Metropolitan State University of Denver and the economics degree is a BA with only one required econometrics class, although you may take another as an elective. The accounting degree is a BS with calculus for business being a requirement, and no minor required by the way. I'm wondering which would be more marketable and best route to go. If I do go with economics I'd also like some advice on minor choices. I will not be double majoring, it'd take 4 years after my already 2 year degree to graduate. Advice would be appreciated, thanks.
