Accounting program at UCR

how good is it? Do the big 4 recruit from their? Compared to CSUN which would be better?

I heard their business program is pretty good, which I believe accounting is apart of. UCR is a University of California school, therefore it is more known and distinguished versus a Cal State.

@CSUSMCougar Yea in terms of name yea, my question I guess is more in terms of the program itself as I can’t really seem to find any huge amount of info online. Compared to say CSUN which has earnest and young recruitment office on campus as well as some high level internships within the accounting world. But as for UCR i can’t seem to find any info

UCR is a R1 university. There are only around 120 R1 universities in America. UCR from what I have heard has many opportunities that you would not be able to get at a CSU.

@CSUSMCougar R1 just states the school has a high amount of doctorate degrees awarded per year and that the school has a high focus on research activity.

Yes… precisely. But UCR has way more professors researching, that you can research with. They have more facilities because it is a UC, and you would most likely have more opportunities to go to job fairs, get internships, or create a network because it is a UC. Just my 2 cents.

they are both pretty good. Go into their career centers and ask about recruiting events and process. While you are there, sit in on a couple of biz classes to get a feel for how big and how interactive they are. Talk to some students and ask them what they think - would they choose the school again? how hard is it to get classes? What’s the best thing about the school? What’s the biggest PITA they have? From questions like that, you should be able to get a pretty good feel for which one will work best for you.
