Accounting Questions!

Hi, I’m going to be a junior in September, and right now I’m really interested in studying accounting.
But I’m also really passionate about history, especially art history.
Is it wise to major in accounting and minoring in art history, since that’s what I’m passionate about? Or should I consider studying other finances.
Also, what colleges offer the above choices? I’m looking into NYU and Boston Uni
Thanks, and sorry in advance, I really don’t know how the college processing works :0

If you can work out the courseload it would be no problem to double major in accounting and history. If you are an accounting major and want to work in a CPA firm then there is no need to take additional finance classes (you will likely have to take 2 as part of the accounting curriculum). I would take a minor in art history if that is do-able with the school’s curriculum (you need to check each school’s requirements) or else just take all of your free electives in art history.

Note…this is unsolicited but just so you know, to become a CPA now you need to take 150 credits (a typical BS degree is 120 credits) so many people now go on for a one year Master’s degree (unless you have enough APs etc. to satisfy the requirement).
