I'm a junior accounting major at Misssissippi State. Me and my girl friend have been dating 2 years and it's pretty serious. She is also a junior but majoring in Real Estate Finance. She graduates a year before me because I plan to get my master.
My gpa is above a 3.3 and I want to work for one of the Big 4. My question is, I'm not sure when she will get a job so I'm not sure where to look for a job.
If I intern for one of the Big 4 at, let's say an office in Memphis, would I be able to transfer to another city for my real job?
Does the FIRM recruit you and you can pick the city. Or does the city's office recruit you? Thanks

City office recruit. You might be able to transfer to another city. My roommate did that and a few others I know. It really depends on needs too. It’s a hard question to answer.

I asked a very similar question at a Big Four event and the guy that answered(who was just some random staff or senior or something, I forget) said it was possible to switch but he didn’t really know what the process was(basically HR was fairly accommodating about thing I guess). Anyway, the way I see it regardless of what happens you should just try to get an internship in Memphis and if you have to move at least you’ll have the internship on your resume. I think a few of the Big Four demand a 3.5 but I forget who.

Probably need a 3.7+ in this economy for the most part to be safe. Either way as soon as you lock up the offer, make sure you ask about it immediately to reserve a spot.
