Accounting Schools in the Dallas area

I am currently going to community college, and have under a year left, with a 4.0 gpa. I am planning to transfer to a business school in the Dallas area, and will major in accounting with the hopes of getting a CPA, before continuing on to get an MBA at UT (I hope.) I have realized it would be difficult to complete the necessary coursework to attend UT in the amount of time I have left for my Accounting program, since I did not know that Calculus 1 and 2 would be required until it was far to late to ready for admission next fall. I had thought about going to SMU, but I feel like it might not be my best choice, mostly because the price is not justified for a more standardized program like accounting. At this point I am trying to decide between UTD and UNT, since they have a much more reasonable price, and both offer bachelor and masters fast-track that will allow me to finish in 5 years or less. My accounting professor has suggested UNT, but I would prefer to stay in Dallas, and I have been unable to find what sets it apart from UTD. I was hoping someone might have some information that could help me. Thanks.

Regards,
Dallas Accounting.

Dude! Cox Business school at Southern Methodist University and the Neely school of business at Texas Christian University both have very good accounting and busines programs!!! TCU is in Ft. Worth not Dallas but that is pretty close! SMU is in Dallas!!

I would recommend UT Dallas since you want to stay in Dallas. If you really want to go to UT Austin you could get a Masters of Professional Accounting from there (UTA) as I don’t know that they accept people into their MBA program straight out of undergraduate.

How long does it take to complete Calculus 1 and 2? You will transfer to four-year school in Fall 2014 and don’t have time to take these classes at your cc, even with summer sessions prior to Fall 2014?
