Accounting Transfer Chances From CC

I currently attend MDC (Miami Dade College) and I have a 3.83 cumulative GPA and a 3.87 in major gpa with 55 credits. I'm trying to transfer for spring 2012 with 61 credits and by then I believe i will have a 3.7966 cumulative GPA (B in business calculus) which is rounded to a 3.8 i believe (according to some college rounding stuff). Correct me if i'm wrong. And i will have a 3.84 in major gpa.

I'm trying to transfer to either UF or FSU accounting program and I wanted to get some answers and responses of what your GPA was when you transfered to the Accounting program FOR FSU and my chances of getting into the program. Any help would be nice.

Acg2021 3 credits A
Acg2021L 1 credit A
Eco2013 3 credits A
Eco2023 3 credits A
Sta2023 3 credits A
CGS1060 4 credits A
Mac2233 3 credits B

I have one "W" for mac2233 because I did poorly on the first test and I was studying for the spanish clep exam that semester as well, and I was a full time student at the time. I ended up getting the 8 credits for the foreign language exam.

Dean's list 4-5 semesters.

Have you considered emailing or calling the department?

See: [Contact Us / Recruiters & Community / Accounting / Departments / Academic Programs / College of Business / FSU - College of Business](http://www.cob.fsu.edu/Academic-Programs/Departments/Accounting/Recruiters-Community/Contact-Us)

I had a 3.24 GPA with 3 W classes, as a Economics major transfer. I also transferred with an AA.

You should be accepted to FSU, there shouldn’t be any reason why you wouldn’t.

When you are accepted to FSU, you are not formally admitted to the program, if the Accounting program is limited access. After you complete one semester as a Accounting-NFA with the required minimum GPA, Accounting will be recognized as your major. That’s if Accounting is a limited access, if it isn’t, you’re good.

Thank you, very informative Mastuhdang :)

All undergraduate programs in the FSU College of Business are Limited Access:

[Admission Requirements- College of Business Limited Access Programs 2010-2011 Academic Year / Undergraduate Programs / Academic Programs / College of Business / FSU - College of Business](http://www.cob.fsu.edu/Academic-Programs/Undergraduate-Programs/Admission-Requirements-College-of-Business-Limited-Access-Programs-2010-2011-Academic-Year)

Meeting the minimums does not guarantee admission.

Based on this, your chances look good for admission to FSU…except you don’t appear to have completed CGS2100, which is required for admission to the CoB. Assuming all credits transfer (which I believe they will).

This page suggests hopeful accounting students should take CGS2518 as a prerequisite: http://www.academic-guide.fsu.edu/accounting.html

Questions should be directed to the department.

You welcome!

I know some courses in CC are labeled differently from universities. So CGS 1050 might be CGS 2100. You might want to email an adviser in the Accounting department Lazman.
