i'm confused on what major to choose and i'd like to know why you guys are majoring in accouting?..do you like numbers? math?..thanks!

Because I like(d) the classes I had to take for the BSBA, Intro to Managerial and Financial Accounting. I had a great professor, and I had been interested in accounting before, but that was the first time I really saw it as something I "could" do.
I am also someone that likes the routine of "knowing" what I'm going to do. I know with audits and everything you might be given a variety of different experiences, but I'm leaning more towards 'tax' because I actually like to be a little monotonous when it comes to work, believe it or not.
That's not to say accounting is boring, because it can be really stressful if you work at a big 4...doing a difficult audit that's taking a bunch of time, or if you just can't seem to get caught up during tax season.
But, something about it really appealed to me. I thank my professor (had him for both of the aforementioned classes) for showing me the light. Now I have a career path. I KNOW what I'm going to do. I'm going to work at a big four firm in assurance/or tax.

For me, I chose accounting because I like complex business strategy and seeking meaning for business decisions. I guess you could say I like the why, and accounting--more than anything else--answers the why with a lot of business decision processes and purposes.

because you need a job.

besides a general interest, i also have to agree with abc 123 for once, i want a job
