I see a websites ranking UNC-CH's undergraduate accounting program, but I find nothing regarding any undergraduate accounting program on their Kenan Flagler website. Am I looking at the wrong place?

hey hey! They actually do not offer undergraduate accounting BUT you can go into the Kenan Flager initiative program which they offer to some undergrads and you must major in some business like field such as Business Admistration or Economics. After receiving your undergrad degree, you can go into UNC’s Masters of Accountancy program which is AMAZING and 95% of its graduates find a job starting off around 50,000, which doubles and then triples with within, like 10 years.

i’m just a high school student that is planning to go into these programs so you may want to do some more research yourself!

You are not looking in the wrong place. Kenan-Flagler only offers one degree- A BS in Business Administration. What many people do is pick a concentration within that degree (finance, marketing, international business, etc). It is not required to pick a concentration, but since you ARE required to take 15 hours of electives within the business school and all it takes is minimum 9 hours to have a concentration, most people pick one or two.

Like the poster above said, you can get into the MAC program (which is only 1 extra year). It is very popular with many KF students and very successful. I would definitely recommend that if you are interested in accounting.

However, a little side note: you first have to apply and get accepted into the b-school. It is a separate application process that happens during your sophomore year. It is very competitive… and I’m not kidding when I say that. Many people forget they’re no longer competing with a general pool of applicants (like they did to get into UNC) but with (mostly) already very qualified UNC students. Not to rain on any parades or crush plans or anything, but it’s definitely something to consider. I’ve watched friends put all their eggs in the b-school basket, get denied, then scramble to find something to do with their last 2 years. Then again, unless you’re a pre-admit, you won’t start the major till junior year anyway.
