Acct/Finance vs. Econ/Finance

I am currently attending Temple University majoring in accounting and finance. I am going into my junior year, and double majoring in accounting and finance will take me 3 more years to finish the program.

Because it was taking one full year more to finish the program, I am having second thoughts about majoring in those concentrations. So I was doing some research, and with economics and finance major, I can graduate on time, two more years left.

I really like business, and my goal is to work in the consulting field. The reason why I am studying accounting is because doing audit or tax can be my second option, and accounting can be more stable.

I just want to hear from professionals in the consulting and finance field if majoring in economics and finance would be a good combination for the entry level job to begin my career.

I am having thoughts about Economics and MIS also. I can still graduate on time. Adding MIS can give me bigger fields to search when I enter my first job.

For consulting you can major in anything. You just have to be an academic superstar and ace the cases. For finance it’s a little different. Econ and finance would be just fine though.
