Accuplacer for Math, how hard to get placed into College Algrebra?

I have already taken both 098 & 099 and passed with A’s. For some reason, the university I’m transferring to wants me to take this placement test even though I’ve already qualified for College Algebra!? What gives!

The thing is, I have probably forgotten 50% of what I’ve learned already… And I need to score high enough for College Algebra or I’ll have to re-apply after another semester at CC.

Edit: does anyone know how many questions I need correct?

If you’ve forgotten half of what you learned within the past few years, then you didn’t really learn it.

I have no idea of the numbers, but why not spend some time this weekend re-learning the material you’ll need?

It’s not that hard. The accuplacer is just a watered down version of the SAT, and it looks like you only have to take math portion. You can buy a study guide at Barnes and Noble for not much money, or better yet, grab a book at B&N and go to the adjacent Starbucks and study it there without paying for it  The test will probably take you 20 minutes.

It is not that hard. You have unlimited time and can take 20 minutes for a single question if you like. Just practice and watch review videos and you’ll do fine. I did this and only got a single question wrong.

I took the accuplacer test as an 8th grader to take college algebra. Don’t stress it.

The score required may depend on the college, and if you didn’t actually learn the material to do well enough to place into College Algebra, you probably need a refresher math course. If you only crammed for the test previously, and never learned the material, Why would you want to take a class you’re not prepared for?
