How accurate are the princeton review assessments of whether a school is a "good match," "reach," or "safety?"

Not good at all...it's almost random.

PR is good for suggesting colleges for you to investigate further. Their assessment of safety/match/reach varies from year to year - some years are harsher, some are easier.

Yes, that is true what fireflyscout said. Sometimes it's harsher or easier.

At one point it said that Stanford and Rice were matches (hahaha....ya right).

It's pretty random... some of the matches were definitely reaches while some were definitely safeties for me.

I'll say it is inaccurate to a good degree because I had my stats originally set

760 M, 650 V, 560 W and it said Rice was a match

I changed it to

760, 680, 710 which are my real scores and Rice became a reach.

VERY VERY RANDOM....I gave them my stat...it said MIT reach and Harvard a Match....

THen I gave SAT scores something like....400 500 550....then it still said the same thing abt. Harvard and MIT......
