Actually, the question should be:
What will my colleges think of this irony?

I studied AP Calculus AB on my own during junior year and aced the AP exam. I wanted to take multivariable but I couldn't because I've never covered BC material. And now I'm doing horribly in BC and, tragically, it's my worst subject.

I'm a senior right now and my midyear grades are in. All my other subjects are stellar, A's and A+'s. It's just BC Calculus and it's bothering me so much (B-).

What will colleges think of this? I'm just really, REALLY nervous. I'm thinking that colleges will see that I got a 5 on the AB exam and then look at my stupid grade and feel utterly confused. I'm also thinking that they don't even really understand the difference between AB and BC and just sort them into one 'AP math' category.

What do you think colleges will think of this?

dude seriously?! you have a B calm yourself down…i’m sure that’ll be perfectly fine…
hahaha what a grade perfectionist!
I think colleges will understand that you’re human and extremely appreciate the fact that you got a 5 in AP calc

Doesnt’ the first half of BC simply cover the same material as in AB? That’s what our HS says (same AB material but moves at a faster pace in order to cover new material later on). The kids are asked to choose either AB OR BC (can’t do both). But if your GC reports that you self-studied, then perhaps it would look like you’re having trouble with the “class” requirements, not necessarily the material (since you got a 5). But I wouldn’t worry too much about the one B, if you’re doing well in your other classes. Just keep working hard and don’t let it drop down to a C.

One B won’t hurt you, especially if you have the 5 on the AB exam. Colleges will probably see it as a hard teacher.

I’m curious though - how are you getting a B- in BC if you got a 5 on the AB exam?

Calc BC is harder than Calc AB. Even though the first semester was suppose to be all review, our class went in depth on all the topics discussed. The tests were much harder and were worth 70% of our total grade. :(

You’ll probably get accepted in your community college. Maybe get an office job for att, maybe tysons chicken farmer. Dude, thats tough stuff…:)
