I took the ACT for the first time in April. I did not study at all and pulled off a 33. Now I'm taking the test again in October and I am hoping for a 35 or 36. Any advice on how I should prepare myself? I already bought a new Kaplan ACT book with the CD-ROM meaning I will have 5 practice tests.

If you're starting at a 33 all you really need to do is some practice, so you'll be fine.

You seriously are not happy with a 33? Just think about it if you really want to spend some more money to sit through an exam even though you got a fantastic score. Anyway, I think if you go through some of those practice Kaplan tests, you can get a 35 or 36.

yeah I know that a 33 is good, but I can do better. And to get into the colleges I am looking at, a higher score will never hurt.
