Do you guys get acne? How do you deal with it? I've had acne for 4 years and I can't get rid of it. It really gets in the way of self esteem :(

Use benzoyl peroxide. [Acne Products](http://www.danielkern.com/product-p/treatment-8.htm)

go see your dermatologist. They can prescribe stuff for you that’s much stronger & will clear up faster.

I have it pretty bad. I honestly don’t freak out about it too much :P

Nope. I hear antibacterial pills help out really well. My fried used to break out a lot but as soon as she started taking the pill, she had a decently clear face.

I only break out when I am stressed so…je ne sais pas.

Same for me, my acne gets bad when I’m stressed but when there’s no school or after sports practice (calms me down) it goes away. I have gone to the dermatologist and the prescription will work for 3 months and then stop.

No, I’m too rad to have acne.

Well, I really don’t know what to say. I never really had acne, but I do have the occasional pimples that come from time to time. Like what eastafrobeauty said, you should go see your dermatologist. They can prescribe really great things to help with your acne, like one of my friends did with her acne. They gave her some pill which made her skin sensitive to sun light, but made her pimples go away. When she went back again, whatever pimples she had leftover were popped and her face looks better than ever!

there’s this thing called acnefree, it’s like a rip off of proactive but with more benzoyl, it’s in 3 orange bottles and you can get it at walmart or target for about $20 for more than a month supply.

that helped when my acne was really bad, but it was never all that bad (my mom tells me I just thought it was worse because my brothers teased me so much, apparently it wasn’t so bad but my family is a bunch of dicks?). I think what helps now is just basically washing my face with really cold water and basic soap, and if I get a pimple I put toothpaste on it or rub it with an ice cube to make it go down (ice cubes help to get rid of swelling and redness, I don’t know if toothpaste is all that real or if my family is just lying to me again)

Get your dermatologist to prescribe you some pills --antibiotics.

Then just take some alcohol and pour it all over your face, like you’re pouring a bottle of water on your face on a very hot day.

Do this every day for two weeks.

i’m assuming you’re a teenager, which means your acne is probably hormone-related. the first thing that comes to mind is over the counter facial cleansers and topical creams, which do work for some, but for most the issue is internal. i would suggest talking to your doc/mom about a prescription to birth control. overall, though, i think it’s most important that you take care of your body as a whole. the clearness of your skin (externally) reflects the wellbeing of you as a whole (internally). it’s very important to maintain a healthy diet free of an excessive amount of fat, sugar, and sodium. you should also be drinking tons of water…which benefits’ go further than just the clearness of your skin. if you are willing, apple cider vinegar works wonders for pimples. topically, yes, but even better if you drink it. i drink it everyday (diluted w/ water, about 2 tbsp) this is also balances your bodies ph level and stabilizes the toxins we take in. topical treatments can still be important, though. cleanse with a foam cleanser by night with an oil-free moisturizer and in the morning rinse with hot and cold water. (hot opens pores, cold closes) weekly, i would recommend using a facial scrub in the shower and rinse with lemon juice as a toner monthly. almost everything i’ve just said is just as important to those without acne as it is to those with…hope i helped.

The best thing to do is skip over the stuff like pro active and any of the stuff on TV you get without a prescription. Go to your doctor and get an anti-biotic pill and a cream. It works wonders.
Hope that helps =D

I have moderate acne. Here are my advice:
-Keep most of your hair away away from your face. I used to have bangs and get a lot of acne on my forehead. Now that i’ve grown my bangs out, the number of zits have decreased dramatically on my forehead :)

-Wash your face a lot (morning and night) with products like Clearasil. Your goal is to keep your face free of oil/sweat. I wash my face immediately when I’m done working out. Or when it’s just really hot and I’m sweating a lot.

-Use acne products like benzoyl peroxide. Or go to your doctor and they’ll prescribe something.

If you have a severe case of acne, then you should probably go to a dermatologist.

I got really lucky in finding out how to clear up my acne. I had a surgery a couple months ago and it was too painful/annoying to wash my face so I just stopped. Magically, my acne went away. I don’t wash my face or have pimples anymore.

Dermatologist! Acne can be hereditary and there are different types. Severe acne is never a reflection of your diet, although diet can aggravate it. There are a lot of new meds that can really help but they are by prescription. The over-the-counter stuff can help mild cases but not the severe ones. Also be careful of the scrubs as sometimes they can aggravate acne.

^ You don’t wash your face? Not even for hygienic purposes? Disgusting.

Talk to your dermatologist,

don’t overwash your face it could make it worse.

Try some products to see if something works. But you HAVE to be consistent with them because it takes time to see results.

Not sure if this is a myth but, lay off of the oily foods and chocolate.

Also, I know for a fact that if you have a dandruff problem–or your hair is greasy and oily…that could also be another problem. Try taking care of your hair and see what happens.

Also, stress= acne for many people. You hormones also play a role…especially if you’re on your period you may tend to breakout.

I have moderate acne usually in my T-zone area. It’s stress-related-- when school’s out and I have nothing to worry about, or after a really important exam/fun day with friends, it will go away. The scars though are D: Also, don’t overwash your face, esp. if you have dry skin. Most acne products are drying, so be sure to moisturize. I find that if I apply a bunch of lotion to my skin (and keep hair out off my face) my acne lessens

I LOL’d !

Antibiotics are so easy. My skin was always basically fine, but, meh. And I also never got sick while I was taking them. Beast.
