ACSA Guide to Architecture Schools

For those of you who have gone through or are in the midst of applying to arch schools, did anyone purchase this guide, and if so, how useful was it?

When my son was looking at architecture schools, we purchased the guide. It was extremely helpful. He used it to select 11-12 schools he would be interested in looking at more in depth. He also used it to help narrow his choices down when he received additional info through brochures and the schools’ websites. When he narrowed is choice down to 4 schools, it made a great reference to go back and review info on those schools.

They have just released the new edition.

I purchased the 8th edition of this guide the past fall. It is a good single reference on architecture schools without running all over the web. It was a good to locate the schools to visit and then after the acceptances to review data on # student, faculty, etc. A new one can be purchased at https://www.acsa-arch.org/store/guide8.aspx

The barely used one that I have is available for $25.00 shipped via PP. send email.

I have looked at the guide info on line for the ACSA Guide to Architecture Schools.
Is there really more info in the book than on their website where you click on the additional information about each school?

bump. I’m also interested in Lakemom’s question. Does anyone else have trouble opening the ASCA school data pdfs?

Sorry about the double post but I called to find out the information. The differences between the book are it lists international schools among a few other things the woman i talked to could not remember but she said the international schools were the main difference. She said there is a problem right now with their website and she is going to email me after it is fixed.

My sense is that if you look it over on line and print out the extra school info parts, which you have to click on each category to see, you can compile a booklet of just the schools you are interested in. There are 134 schools listed and I would imagine most are interested in less than 20.

I would be interested to know how often they up date it. I know for example a while ago I looked and there is very little about Penn State. I think I called then and they said they only include what the schools send them.
