ACT 30 vs. SAT 1970?

which one should I report?

ACT 30

English 31
Math 27
Reading 35
Science 26
English/Writing 29

or

SAT

Math 610
Cr 700
Writing 660

thank you so much!!!

[SAT-ACT Conversion chart](http://teachers.sduhsd.k12.ca.us/lccounseling/sat-act_conversion_chart.htm)

ooh it’s the pretty much the same.

but aesthetically speaking…which is better?

if you could only choose one to send, which would it be??

Both?
10 char

Hmmm any more thoughts?

They’re kind of the same. But on your score report, check your percentiles, because that will tell you which is better.

[ACT-SAT Concordance](The ACT Test for Students | ACT)

According to this, your ACT score is a little higher but I would submit both. They are both good scores! :)

It depends on the school you’re applying to. Do some research and see if they prefer SAT or ACT. Most schools I know of like the SATs better.

Also, a 35 in Reading on the ACT probably looks better than a 700 in CR on the SAT.

I would just submit both; It shows colleges what subjects you really excel in and another good test score never hurts…

On that last chart it indicates that my range could be 1330-1350/1600 so with my writing it could be 2010 instead of 1970?so I guess ACT then?
But do you think I look weak in math & science?especially if that’s what I’m pursuing?

Am I over-thinking this? :]

I would just submit both as the 35 in writing is a fantastic score but most colleges seem to prefer the SAT.

I think you’re overthinking it… :P

Feel free to suggest any schools? Haha just curious to see if I’m blatantly missing any obvious ones.
Or ignore that Q all together. :p

Well, what colleges are you looking at?

Wake forest
Georgetown
Boston college
Emory
Chapel Hill
UVA
Notre Dame
Vassar
Vanderbilt
Johns Hopkins

…are they all reaches.? It hurts my heart :[

And Providence college as a safety but I’m not really interested in it
Hopefully ND Gtown UVa will be EA if I can get my stuff together!

What’s your GPA? Taken any APs?

Have you considered Brandeis? NYU? GWU? Carnegie Mellon? University of Richmond? Barnard? Gettysburg College?

Your list seems pretty long… I don’t know if you really need more…

What are you looking for in a college?

My gpa is the best in my school and I have the highest rank and they don’t technically rank, though my counselor will include something about how I’m the #1 ( it is a small schoolthough).
(Gpa Uw = between .8-3.9 its nearly impossible to get a 4.0. I think only one person in the history of my school ever did and that was years ago)

Our school doesn’t allow AP’s, but I’ve taken beyond the most rigorous courses (adding my own additional independent course)

Yes I meant to put Brandeis too, and I don’t like to location of NYU and Carnegie Mellon ( I’ve never had a pleasant experience with PA and NY haha)

I’ll definitely look at University of Richmond, Barnard and Gettysburg! Thank you so much!

also am I way out of my league with my previous list?

I’d say these are all reach-ish:
Georgetown
Emory
Chapel Hill
UVA
Notre Dame
Vassar
Vanderbilt
Johns Hopkins

Brandeis, BC, WF (test-optional), are decent targets. Do you have any safety schools in mind?

What are you interested in studying?

I’m interested in international relations and going pre-med and also getting a good liberal arts background too.

providence college is a safety, but I really don’t want to have to go there.
I really want Gtown and Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame!!

do you think with really really good recommendations and good leadership EC’s and engaging essays they’re still way out there?

I guess I need more safeties that I wouldn’t want to hurt myself if I went to? haha

Omg Emmy ur like me…I’m majoring in IR and going Pre-med hopefully @ Hopkins too…lol…but I would stick to both scores
