I scored a 34 in the ACT
Math 34, Science 35, English 33, Reading 33, Essay 12/12
I scored a 1460 in the SAT
Math 800, English 660, Essay 18/24
Do you think that I should give the SAT again? I am going to apply Cornell ED. Are these good scores for Cornell ED?
Obviously your ACT score is a lot better than your SAT. However, you should compare these with your corresponding practice scores. My D2 got similar results from her first attempt of each test and we thought she will just go with her ACT score. Then she took the state mandated SAT and got a much better score which is even better than her ACT. Anyway, ACT 34 is above admission average.
Thanks. Also, I want to major in Math and Physics. My math scores are good but my english scores are not that great. So, would a low score in english affect my application in my case even though I have great Math scores
I doubt it. A 33 demonstrates proficient knowledge of english grammar and writing. If you were to be rejected, you can be certain it wasn’t because of your ACT english/reading scores, lol.
