Reaching for HYPS, etc.

1540 CR and M score is incredible…
But your one sitting ACT may be just slightly better.

yeah, on the conversions a 34 comes out between 1510-1550 and around 2280. both of which are around the same… idk this is a quandary for me.

Both. 34 ACT single sitting is very good but 2240 SAT is good enough to also be submitted (like the other guy said… 1540 CR-M is very good).

is it worth it thought? Won’t they see the 36 / 35 on R / M from ACT when they look at score breakdown?

though* ^^^^ (10 char)

They would, which is why I cited ACT as possibly being a bit better.
It’s a difficult decision, but I can’t imagine either decision significantly altering your chance of acceptance…

yeah i know that, i really don’t think sending both would be advantageous relative to cost…

Looking at ACT scores, 34 puts me on the 75th percentile for accepted students, versus somewhere in between 25 and 75 with my sat, I really feel like my writing score is bringing me down on SAT…

SAT is better. A 34 is a 1510 M+CR, whereas you have a 1540 M+CR. The M+CR+W conversion of a 34 is only 10 points better, a 2250. This is based off the official conversions given by ACT Inc. and the Collegeboard.

ok, so i guess the real question is: is it worth it to send the ACT in addition to my SAT?

A lot of the elite colleges actually require you to send scores for EVERY sitting of EVERY test you have ever taken. With those scores, I’m assuming you’re applying to those type of schools, so I’d be safe and just send in every score you’ve ever received.
