I'm debating whether or not to report my ACT score. I already have a 2400 and 2 800 subject tests. I took the ACT as part of a bet and did better than I had expected. My writing score, however, was low (a 9) so I'm not sure whether or not I should report this score. (I'm looking at first tier schools.)

Well if you have a 2400 (on your SAT I’m assuming) then just send that and not your ACT. A 2400 is perfect. Doesn’t get any better. Even if you did submit the ACT, though, it won’t make a difference on whether or not you’re admitted. Top-tier school admissions go far beyond test scores.

oh. i didn’t realize that you were using common app. what did you get on your SAT essay? I would say if you got 10, 11, or 12 on your SAT essay, send the SAT

Just send your SAT score, colleges place little weight on your writing score… And like a person above me said, I think you’re just boasting. Don’t forget that you’re posting in a place where there are several others who attended/are attending ivy league schools. In other words, no one cares if you got a high score, only you should care.

Also, I’m sure that there’s a better section for this question, and we don’t even know what schools you’re applying to.

What makes you think this person is boasting? The OP has a legitimate question, and just because of great scores we assume that he/she is boasting?

I’d just send the SAT. I can’t remember exactly how the scoring works, but don’t you have to get a 12 on the essay to get a 2400 anyway? If so, then at least you’re good there. Whichever you choose to send though, both are extremely impressive.
