Hey guy, I had not heard of the 5th section of the test. I know it was pretty easy, but how does it play into our scores. Anybody know?

5th section? I didn’t have one on mine.

It’s an experimental section.

We had one but supposedly people taking the ACT Plus Writing didn’t have to take it.

It was in my booklet but I didn’t take it. I took a peek at it and it looked really weird.

So it doesn’t effect our scores?

I did writing, and although it was in my booklet, the proctor didn’t mention it, and I didn’t take it.

We were told that it did not affect our scores at all.

I didn’t do the writing and had to do the blasted fifth section.

Mine was a stupid science one. Think I had some friends say theirs was math.

We did like math “grid-in” questions. I think the SAT has questions like these. I guess the ACT is thinking about adding them.

i bet it has to do with the ACT starting to give the test via computer in the next few years???

I was told that the 5th test is being used for data collection and is not counted towards your score in any way. I didn’t bother putting effort into it.

edit: My 5th test was also science. 17 questions

true, they definitely do not count it…
