hey guys. can anyone recommend which ACT book i should use to prepare from for the test. i guess it would be between Princeton Review/McGraw-Hill/Barrons/The Ultimate ACT...

also, can anyone tell me if they thought it was harder or easier, etc..
thankssss.

PR- most consider the best prep book for ACT except in reading section- some mistakes, but closer to the test.
MGHill- Easy, you can actually get a 37 on the math section. it's much easier than normal test.
Barrons- very hard, some consider this as a good source because once you think that you finish Barron, the real ACT will seem to get easier. (just don't be shocked when you get a 22 on this book... very hard).
The ultimate ACT- I don't really remeber too much about this book... except that i was cursing it... but seriously, checked it out of a library... i was shocked at the amount of useless formulas and boring science facts in that book... also a bunch of mistakes in the book.( if i remeber right). it's been a while.

Remeber to buy the Real ACT book... it's the most important book that you can have to prep for the ACT

Check out free sites online too, you can find a lot of practice tests online for FREE(mostly not too accurate, but ACT is just about learning the style of the test.. once you do, it's much easier, so these online tests (such as march2success.com) can help a lot)

Has anyone tried the ACT for Dummies? I am studying from it, and I am satisfied with the book's format and presentation of material. As far as the accuracy of the difficulty level, I am no judge because I have not taken the ACT yet (this SATURDAY is my first run!). Any input? Thanks in advance!

I tried this book once (yeah i prepped pretty hard for the ACT)... there was some mmistakes... but overall it's easier/sorta easier than the real test.

Just as an update after having taken the test, the ACT for Dummies book actually turned out to be tougher than the real test. I found the book to be quite helpful.

After taking the the December and February tests, I can say that only the English and Reading were close in difficulty to the practice tests in the red book. The math and science were much harder in the December/ February tests than in the red book. As for Barron's, the math section seemed to ask a lot of stupid questions(questions you will never be asked on the ACT).
