i am applying ED to JHU and i got a 26 on my ACT. is there any chance? what percent of applicants accepted had around my score?
thanks!

In looking at many common data sets it seems clear that the concordance table (1998) of the SAT and ACT is out of date. From past experience with my own kids much of the data that is published is basically polished to put the institution's best face forward. Many schools have their own internal concordance tables or choose what sections of the ACT to utilize. I think a closer concordance table is a direct comparison of the percentages, for instance a 28 on the ACT is roughly 93%. Compare that to a 93% on the SAT.

That being said, JHU is a tough school to gain admission no matter what. Could you get in with a 26? possibly but the odds are against you unless you have something that they need for their community.

Try retaking and getting closer to that 50% range of accepted students. If you scrounge around looking for common data set info and have no luck, papa chicken has assembled much of the info in the college search section

JHU'S ACT score middle 50% (enrolled students) is 28-32, and that stat was pulled from fall 05 on their facts page:

I don't know much about JHU, but like the former poster said, your ACT score is probably on the low side.. if your GPA is high, you have ecs, and so on, you might have a shot, but they're admit rate is pretty low regardless (35%).
