Hi, I have a question about whether or not I should take/submit SAT II’s…I plan on submitting my ACT score to schools because it is significantly better than my SAT, so should I still take SAT subject tests? Is it generally recommended to only submit those if you are also submitting the SAT I? I know some schools say that if you take the ACT, you really don’t need to take SAT II’s, the schools I’m thinking of when asking this are Midd, Vassar, USC, BC, and Colgate.
My S1’s guidance counselor suggests taking the subject tests regardless. My S and I were just talking about the same thing as he has a decent ACT and I think he could bring it up. I personally think the subject tests are unnecessary… but, I’ll be honest, he’ll probably take them since the GC thinks they are necessary. I know that doesn’t really help, but since no one else had answered, I thought I’d give you my 2 cents.
