ACT below 50th %ile for top schools/Great Essay

This is my first ACT breakdown:
E:26(damn thought this was my best section)
M:28(last 10 questions were brutal for me)
R:29(A gift from god/ skimmed the last passage in 10 seconds)
S:28(If i didn't learn about genetics in bio, i wouldve been screwed)
Comp:28
I need at the VERY least a 29 to contend for emory, but im aiming for a 32/33
This was my essay score:
Essay:10
Writing Comb. Score: 27
I had a top (99th %ile Essay) and an alright score for my first ACT.
I'm kind've mad though, since Idk if I'll get the same score on the next essay( I feel like i got lucky, i wrote the essay in 10 minutes after being stumped for the first like 15.
Don't get me wrong, a 28 is great but I want a better score, and I was wondering if colleges "Superscore" Your essay on multiple ACTs

I hate to say it, and I could be wrong, but I don’t think the ACT essay score counts for much. I’ve never once seen it on any school’s list of important factors. It’s the composite that is truly important, and the essay isn’t even included in that.

Any school that superscores the ACT will superscore the essay also.

If this is the June ACT, I am wondering how you found out your essay score so quickly.

cool thanks
It’s the june one yeah, the essay came up today

Unfortunately, redpoint is correct. The ACT essay means almost nothing. It isn’t so much how well you do on it, but rather how bad you don’t do. Colleges make sure that you don’t get a 5, not if you get a 12.

Although it is good for you to have done well, the essay unfortunately doesn’t mean much.
