I got a 31 on my ACT, will a prep class help enough for it to be worth it?

practice tests are literally your best friend

you don’t need a several thousand dollar ACT class

if the course is cheap (I’d say around 300 dollars) and you have the money, go for it.
but if not, practice practice practice TEST!

My friend got 31 on first exam, got a private tutor from Princeton Review and ended up with 34 - she got in to her first choice - Notre Dame

Don’t bother with a class. Practice tests or private tutors are the way to go. The class won’t hurt you, but if you’re getting a 31 you’re already ahead of the game (for most kids). The classes will probably be trying to get kids from 25s to 30s not from 31s to 34s (or whatever). You will want to be going over the more advanced stuff, and you don’t necessarily need to go over everything in the book, which is what these classes will go over.

Take every practice test you can get your hands on. Seriously. Evaluate what you miss! It’s a skill where the theory is not as important as the application, like driving a manual transmission. You already have the theory of most questions down, just practice a lot now.

Are there any free practice ACTs online?

I agree with everyone saying practice tests. I bought the 3 real act test practice book from their website (I think it’s $20) and I bumped my score up from a 30 to a 33, no class or tutor.

Practice tests are the way to go.
