My son’s composite score is 35 which is awesome but he got a 10 in writing which I’ve researched would be equivalent to a 29. If he is shooting for Ivies and the like should he just call it a day and not retest or will the writing score be an issue? I know i am splitting hairs and I am very proud of his achievement.
@giantoctopus - ACT writing, as far as I know, is not considered for admissions decisions. Also, I think a 10 is a very good ACT writing score. Also, if you read some other forums, the recent ACT writing scores are being doubted by a lot of posters, so I am sure colleges know about potential discrepancies as well.
Schools could care less about the ACT writing because it is subjective and has been revamped twice in the past two years. Most top tier schools do not require the writing section. Your 35 composite is fantastic
