Does anyone know whether ACT rounds up for purposes of computing the composite score? In other words, would a 35, 35, 36, 36 result in a composite of 36? [Just some hypothetical numbers. :) ]

From what I remember, the composite score does not get rounded up. the scores you presented woudl give a 35 not a 36 :(

Here's one hint:

Yes, any decimal .5 or over is rounded up. Therefore, your hypothetical would indeed result in a 36.

Edit: BTW, I know from experience. My 35/27/36/33=33

Tokenadult: I've seen those stats before, I but don't think they answer my question about rounding. Am I missing something?

Shadow: The ACT site says that scores are rounded to the nearest whole number. Your score of 33 makes sense since the total of your 4 scores (131) divided by 4 = 32.75 which, rounded to the nearest whole number, is 33. I couldn't find anything on the site addressing whether a ___.5 score is rounded up or down. May I ask the basis for your statement that any decimal .5 or over is rounded up? Thanks.

OOps, I mistyped on the math score. It was actually 35/26/36/33=33. Sorry for the confusion.

My Son's scores averaged 34.5 and was rounded to a 35 composite.

Based on the 6/10 score reports on the ACT thread, it appears that scores of .5 are rounded up.
