In the evaluation/reading process, will Yale recalculate my composite score and factor in the writing score thus increasing my overall composite score?

I don’t think so. Schools like Yale want all of your scores. Most schools will definitely not superscore the ACT but maybe the SAT. I read that Yale asks for all of your scores, so if you try and take ACT and SAT a high amount of times, it looks bad.

I talked to the admissions guy at Yale a few months ago and he said that the ACT is super-scored; however, since all tests are submitted it looks really bad if you submit 20 tests.

So, you’re talking about using the combined English + essay score (from the tables) to recalculate a new composite score? No, they won’t do that. Some AO’s at other schools I’ve heard about use a website calculator that gives you an exact SAT score when you plug in all the ACT numbers together with an essay score. Don’t know if Yale does this though.

^^ And while many schools superscore the SAT, only a few of them superscore the ACT. I’m not sure how accurate this site is, but Yale is not among the schools listed: http://www.freetestprep.com/blog/resources/list-of-colleges-and-universities-that-superscore-the-act-test/
