The newest REAL ACT book has a much better curve than the practice sample test on the ACT website. Has anyone else noticed that?

If someone has gotten the score report for a recent ACT test, would you mind posting how many questions you have to get right per section for 30, 31,32,33,34,35 and 36?

Thanks a lot.

Remember, that the curves vary slightly from test to test. If one user is correct, the June ACT should be the easiet. :)

The ACT score report doesn't tell you how many you missed.

wonofido-there is a chart in the ACT scores section online- if you have a feb test result, its free to view now. there are charts for all sections with percentages by score, and for the composite. pm me if you need help finding it- I have it hard copy for April because I got scores online for my D and printed it from there.

ocmom, I took the test in February, and I would appreciate that link as well. Could you PM it to me...thank ya.

I'm interested too, please PM me too. :)

oooh, could you pm me too? (if it isn't a bother ;-) )

the link isn't working, so here are instructions to get there

go to
http://www.actstudent.org
click on "early scores" on left
then click on top middle"I want to see my scores"
then pick feb or april test
then put in your social sec # and birthdate
then you will see your scores. Scroll down to the bottom, it says "National Ranks" you can click on For test scores and compostie or for subscores (2 different charts)

Thanks!

I was also wondering if, in addition to percentile ranks for the scores, someone knows how many questions one can get right to get 30+ in every section. The reason I am asking this is that the REAL ACT book with 2004 tests give you a higher composite with the same number right per section than does the test for 2005 available online.

wonafido- heres what I know- can't get this from ACT site, wonder why or if this is accurate for each test, but here goes:
Source: PR
English: Raw Score of 67/75 or higher= 30
Math: 52/60=30
Reading: 33/40=30
Science: 36/40= 30

wait... is there any way I can figure out how many wrong a 33 in a section was from the February test?

how many wrong for a 33 score varies with each section, but yes, according to whats in PR "cracking the ACT" you can- but I don't know if its accurate for each test. What section and I'll look it up for you.

http://www.actstudent.org/scores/release.html

If you go to that link, then you can get a copy of the April test, the student's answers, and the answer key (which includes how many right one needs per section to get a given subscore). If anyone on CC has gotten this for a recent test, please post what one needs to get 30+ on every section.

""Remember, that the curves vary slightly from test to test. If one user is correct, the June ACT should be the easiet. """

why??

It varies from test to test because it is relative to the other people that have taken the test...it is like percentile

Most likely if you get one wrong or two rong just subtract from 36.
But for lower scores there is a range

Can you buy(order) ACT tests without taking the tests? For example, I want to buy these real tests for practice.

but why is june easiest?

(i heard somewhere that because athletes are taking it )

RATS. a 29= ***? :(

English: 33
Math: 31
Break= I am dead
Reading: 27 <-- I usually score 30+ on practice tests
Science: 26 <--- Lol I just guessed on a lot!

OC mom...please tell me when you receive the ACT score packet that you're ordering that gives you the test booklet and right/wrong answers for every question.

It would be great to figure out how many per section one can miss to get a certain score. The scales vary a lot from book to book, so getting it from the real ACT test that's very recent would be great.

Thanks

Why is June easier....it seems as though there are more people taking it in June as it is one of the last times before applying to colleges. If anyone knows, please post!
