hey i was wondering for the ppl who took the ACT..does it curve like the SAT does? I know for the "real ACT guide" book if i miss 4 in math due to carelessness (since an hour section is pretty long) that really butchers my score and makes it a 32 which is = to a 700-720ish. On my SAT math i got 750. im taking ACT to get my 620 SAT CR up and hopefully score 31-32 in ACT (5ish errors?).

so basically do we get nice curves? im really hoping ACT will replace my sad SAT scores.

Doing well really depends from person to person. Usually the curves at the top are pretty tough as expected (miss one and you go down to a 35).

there aren't exactly nice curves, but your score may seem good because an ACT score would represent a broad SAT score.

The ACT has a large number of tests that they use and reuse. Each has its designated score for number right in each section before you ever take the test. There is no curving based on what the particular group taking the test does. Usually, to get a 36 on a section in the test requires you to get all correct, although you can score a 36 composite by missing some since any 35.5 composite is automatically raised to 36. From test to test the correponding number right to actual score can vary somewhat; for example, on some missing one in science automatically drops you to a 34 in that section but on others it takes you down to a 35. A fairly good rule of thumb for each section is that 90% correct will put you in the 30 to 31 range on that section; thus in English (75 questions) and math (60 questions) you can miss more and still score high than you can with reading and science (which only have 40 questions each).
