ACT dropped by 1 point - do I send the score?

Hi everyone! I got my results for the June ACT today and unfortunately my composite went down by one point.
On the first test I took in February I scored a 31 C (34 E, 26 M, 32 R, 31 S) but on the test I just got back I got a 30 C (32 E, 27 M, 34 R, 26 S). Science messed me up on the second test :frowning:
I’m obviously very disappointed that my score went down, but it’s still at or above the average at a lot of the schools I’m looking at so I’m not that concerned. So my question is, do I send both scores to the remaining schools or just my 31? Even though my first composite was higher, the sections that “count more” (math and reading) were higher on the second test. Should I just send both?
Thanks so much!

Perhaps. The good news is that your ACT superscore is 32. If a school does not require you to submit all scores, then submit the score that is to your advantage. If a school superscores ACT, then submit both scores.

Generally, there is very little movement in scores, meaning your scores are expected to occur within a range of scores. Depending on the schools to which you are applying, you scores ( which are above average )
may already meet that part of admissions criteria. Please don’t get hung up on your scores since they are only one factor in acceptance and are less important than your anxiety tells you. Further, both the act and sat broadly measure college prep. Unlike midterms and finals, you will not get the same version of the test again for which you could study. Don’t you have better use of your time and money.
