ACT exempt from remedial

I was wondering how much I have to score on the act to be exempt from remedial courses. What sections of the math do I have to pass to not be enrolled in a remedial class

Most schools use other tests, such as Accuplacer, to place students into the best courses. You receive instructions about that after you’ve been accepted.

In any case, schools that do use ACT to place students are likely to do it in a different way. The college where I teach used to use ACT for placement. We didn’t look at individual sections, but simply used a cutoff score for Math, English, etc…

Likely, if you get 17 or lower on ACT math, you’d be placed into remedial math in college.
