Act-feb 9-test Questions

was b+1 choice c?

It was 2.

The shortcut was 5mi and going the long way was 7 mi.

I think b+1 was choice a

I definitely picked b+1.

there was a math question that had a parallelogram with lots of 5x5 squares inside...what was the area of it closest to? 1200?

there was a question with a trapezoid that had a base of 40 and base of 28 and an angle of 30...what was the area of it? did it have like 780tan..something in its answer?

I think I picked an answer with 780sin...something. I guessed. ://
What was the answer to the girl trying to increase her running speed by 2 miles everyday?

was she trying to increase it to 26? if that was it the answer was 11

I think you're right mike08, I'm pretty sure it was 780sin.

The trapezoid was 780sin.

The parallelogram was 1100.

The pentagon was 72 degrees.

Trying to increase to 26 question was 11.

mhh, I'm pretty sure the letter for "b+1" was answer A.

I agree with all your answers, llpitch.

How did you guys get 1100 for the area problem?

Well I just knew the formula for area of a parallelogram. But I actually even double checked that problem. I just split it up into 2 triangles and a rectangle and found the area of each then added em up.

The rectangle was 600 and the two triangles were 250 each. 600 + 250 + 250 = 1100.

It was just the number of squares times 25, and I think the number of squares was about 45?

woot~ llpitch, we had the same answers.

now for the science and reading sections. Anyone else think those questions were really hard?
Well, my watch got confiscated at the beginning because it beeps when i use it as a stop watch so I had no way to keep time. The english and math sections were a breeze, but I kept running out of time on the science and reading questions. I guessed on the last six science questions, and got to the last guess and finally understood the graph :[

Anyone remember the first reading passage about the boating guy? I believe the second question was "Does the narrator enjoy building the boat?"

I remember putting B down, it said he enjoyed it because it kept pace with the monestary life, or something rather.... anyone remember?

It was just the number of squares times 25, and I think the number of squares was about 45?

That way would take much longer than either of my ways.

btw, anyone know where to get a "beepless" stop-watch?

I put the one that was along the lines of "he just wanted to do it to do it"

I think the word ingenious or something was in my answer.

I wasn't too sure on that one.

yea i just envisioned the parallelogram as a rectangle, and did LxW then multiplied by 25.

btw, anyone know where to get a "beepless" stop-watch?

A regular watch lol. My proctor was nice and would write the stop times on the board so I would just glance at my watch to get a general place of my time.
