Act-feb 9-test Questions

Geez, this is depressing.

dude mika you're not the only 1

i had a 35 in reading last time and this time i had to guess on like 5 of them

XiEiX and Mika, Yall understand it?

woot! got it right then

it was brilliant rainbow right? for the one that had choices like multi-hued, diverse and colorful

also the where it had the girl riding her bike to her friend's house, i got 4. I thought the numbers were 6 and 8. The shortcut would take 10 miles and going straight would take 14 miles, therefore, saving 4 miles.

No, it was 2. And, yes, it was brilliant. You do not want to restate anything.

i'm going to live in denial and not log into CC until the 22. bye.

how is it 2?

lol you know a trick for effect and affect
is remembering when you played pokemon and when the move was like
IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE

Haha, XiΞiX, seriously though. My hope of getting a 30+ is diminishing everytime I refresh the page. And thanks for explaining that to me Student-123. It made a lot of sense.

like fire attacks are super effective against grass types (me love pokemon)

lol, I went over some quick english tips right before I had to leave and that was on it :) Yeah for last minute cramming

Okay, so the science question where it was like "Assume the n value for yellow light is 1.517. List the n values in decreasing order." really confused me.

The red value was 1.514, and the blue value was 1.528 (photo memory, sorry).

So it should be blue, yellow, red, no?

That wasn't an answer choice. The closest one was A, blue red yellow.

what did others get?

So effect is like, a move that caused you to win the battle? And I think I picked A with blue first.

effect is a noun, affect is a verb

The poll counts affected Obama's popularity.
The flood created a disastrous effect.

burnitblue- im pretty sure blue, yellow, red was a choice. I remember putting down the answer that had yellow in the middle.

How about the question on the math section that was: x^2-3x-2.

Im pretty sure it was 2 distinct rationales. Their were roots because that equation crosses the x axis.

And also, from the english section, was the answer to the question: "All I've done is grow up."

The answer was "is grow" right?

I got red, yellow, blue. n meant the ratio of speed of air/ speed of material, so a higher number meant higher speed in air or lower speed in material... so it was from small number to high number. idk, does that make sense? I had like 5 secs to decide. I might have thought about it in the wrong way.

i think the n value was the speed in air/divided by the speed in the medium, so the higher the number, the lower the speed. so blue was definitly first and but im not sure about the other n value burnitblue

spaz, draw yourself a picture.
one side was 8, and the other side was 6. the problem said that she biked 3 north, and then went in a straight line (hypotenuse) and then went 4 mi to the other house. so we have a 3-4-5 triangle, 5 being hypotenuse. so 5 + 4 + 3 is 12 and the total distance w/0 shortcut is 14. 14-12 is 2.
