My son's friend took the ACT last June and received a 22 composite score. She took an ACT preparation course over the summer and then took the ACT again in September scoring a 30. January of this year, ACT sent her a letter questioning her score and advising her that she had the option of either appealing her questioned score with supporting back-up, taking the test over privately or cancelling the scores herself. She decided to appeal with a lot of supporting documents. The appeal failed, and she elected to take the ACT privately to confirm her composite score of 30.She did and received a 27 which backed up her 30 score. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this.

by friend you mean your son right?

and Yes i've never heard of something that drastic being done, several people have stated that something like that had happened but they only had to get their school counselor call or something like that.

it happens to kids who take the SAT too. The testing gurus don't buy a xx increase from a statistical standpoint, so they just assume something is amiss.
