I got composite score of 27 ( math 34 science 29), which I feel a little uncomfortable about. However, I heard that the Academy mainly look on math and science score. I also found out the average act composite of the accepted students is 28.7. The Academy is accepting only 60 juniors next year.
So, what will be my chance of getting in? Am I a competitive applicant? Do i have to retake the act??

Bump…

I would try retaking it before the deadline if it is a possibility. Your math and science scores were pretty decent for a junior, I would recommend trying to get the science up to ~32 or higher though and get your english and reading up. Good luck with getting in!

Actually I’m a sophomore.

No more comments??

I think you’ll be fine… I was facing this situation but I’m going to move to another state so I can’t go to that school which doesn’t offer this sort of academy. I will, however retake the ACT as many times as possible to ensure your highest score just to prepare for that school and make sure you get in.

P.S. E-mail the school to find their ACT average, they told me, so they might tell you.

Thanks!!!
