ACT grading

i am going to take the Act for the first time next time
but i am not sure about the grading system
so for EX: if i miss 1 out of 2
do i still get 2 points
or 1

because in the ACT website it said there is no points reduction
In sat you get -1/4 right?

PS. does ACT has history in it? and how do i study for science in ACT
thanks

U

On the ACT, if you miss, let’s say, 10 out of 60, your raw score would be 50.
In contrast, on the SAT, if you missed 10 out of 60, your raw score would be 48.
So, to answer your question, you would get 1 point.

No history on the ACT, but some random history topic might appear on the Reading section. You do not need any prior knowledge, however.

Science? Take practice tests and learn how to move quickly.

so it’s -1 point for every question u miss??

Yes. When the ACT states that there is no penalty for wrong answers, they are implying that you are not losing an additional quarter point. You still lose a point if you get a question wrong.

“does the ACT has history”

No, but it has english.

And you can’t just answer 1 question on each section that you know you got correct and have it called a 36, of course you lose points for getting 1 wrong.

Practice pacing yourself - not only on the science section but the whole test in general. It would also help if you familiarized yourself with reading graphs.
