I am wondering how many times to take the ACT. I have taken it 3 times so far, scoring a 32, 33 and 33. I have scored 35s on each subject, just at different times, so I keep thinking maybe it could all come together in one test! Do Colleges combine the best individual scores or should I try one more time?

Most colleges use for admission that ACT test on which you score your highest composite and do not mix and match subscores from multiple tests (the majority of colleges follow the opposite rule for SAT's and a small number do the same for the ACT). Of the ones that use the test with your highest composite, there are some that consider your math and English subscore to be the more important subscores. There are a small number, such as Rose-Hulman and Georgia Tech, that consider only your math and English subscores for admission and ignore composite, science and reading. 33 is a high score and to get any higher after three tries is likely wishful thinking.

If taking the test doesn't stress you out too much, and cost isn't an issue, why not try again? Colleges won't know how many times you tried, and it sounds as if you could potentially raise your score. I know that Wash U. combines the best individual scores from different sittings, but I'm not sure who else does. Even if the score doesn't go up, 33 is above the 75th percentile of just about every college in the country, so I hope you feel good about having a terrific score already.

Yeah 33 is very good. However, if you don't mind taking it again, then maybe all you're 35s will come together. I'm not telling you to do it, but if you wanna do it, it couldn't hurt.
