I took the ACT in 8th grade for a talent search and did surprisingly well. Then I took it again this year in 9th grade and did slightly worse on the composite. But two of my component scores increased - so I now have a superstore of three 36’s and one 35. Can I just be send these scores to colleges and be done, so I don’t have to take this test again? I can’t seem to find anything on admissions websites that say explicitly that I can’t.
Usually not. Talent search tests are deleted unless you specifically ask to keep them. And some schools may want a more recent test.
Thanks for the quick reply. Fortunately, my parents did ask to have the scores retained. I have heard that some schools prefer scores from junior or senior year, but have yet to find one that explicitly states that as a requirement. I guess I’ll ask my guidance counselor.
@codewarrior what talent program did you take ACT test for in 8th grade? I just took ACT few months ago in 7th grade for duke tip.
It depends on the school. Some schools will superstore you. One kid got a 30 in seventh grade and a college accepted it.
