ACT in lieu of Subject Tests

This is a semi-repost of a previous thread that I had up here, but I don't think I articulated myself very well in that, got limited response, and am still looking for answers. And by the way, this is actually pretty important, because it's basically the deciding factor on whether or not I need to sign up for SAT IIs in the fall.

Is it unwise to submit only the ACT in lieu of the SAT I and the SAT II? I've read a variety of posts on this forum that state that SAT IIs should still be submitted as a supplement to the ACT score, but simultaneously, on the schools' websites, it is clearly stated that the sole ACT can be submitted instead of both of the collegeboard exams.

I hope I'm making myself clear.

As always, thank you.

If the school itself says you only need to submit the ACT, then there clearly is no disadvantage in not submitting SAT subject tests. You have given them exactly what they asked for and don't need to do anything more. (Certainly the school knows more about what they really want to see than any posters here on CC!)

My son got into several very selective schools (including Boston College, where he will start this fall) and submitted only his ACT scores.

Well, obviously very high SAT II's will probably be a plus on your application, but not having them is in no way going to be a negative.

I'd submit my SAT IIs if my SAT I weren't low. That's why I'm trying to stray from submitting those exams at all, and just go with the ACT.
