ACT interpretation

In October I took the ACT and got a 33 (31 English, 35 Math, 32 Reading, 35 Science). I was dissapointed to see that my original composite was a 33.25 meaning I was literally 1 question (ENGLISH WTF) away from a 34. A lot of schools I am looking at have 34 as their 75th percentile score. Basically what I am asking is if more thought goes into interpreting ACT scores than just the composite… is there ever a time when a 33 is seen as a 34?

I’m going to let you read that again. Think about it.

In your case, it’s unfortunate and frustrating that you scored a XX.25, so your composite rounds down. Most colleges look just at the composite, though some may note individual scores, in which case they’d see a “strong” 33 score. That being said, the difference between a 33 and a 34 is marginal when applying to schools. I’d focus on other parts of the application.

Thanks @golfcashoahu . I guess that brings about some closure.

@“Erin’s Dad” So… no :’(

No, the colleges will see the 33.

Update: This issue in this post is no longer a concern
