Are you sure? Because the in the Red Book the curves vary slightly, so how would they predetermine percentiles?

My statement may only apply to the SAT, actually. My GC told me it was predetermined, but I can’t find a source to back that.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/act-preparation/826983-sorry-act-has-no-curve-based-test-result.html

^ Actually that poster makes a good point! My scores aren’t available, yet some people already got theirs in the mail. They couldn’t have done an analysis on all of the tests to set the curve.

Also, do you guys think that the “scheduled maintenance” will interfere with them posting scores on time?

I think the scheduled maintenance is probably the “uploading” of the scores from one database to the web database. Any one else think that might be the case?

I’m unsure. I’ve never taken the ACT, so it could be routine. Is that what they always do? It could be a new method they are using to upload (I don’t know the technical phrasing of that lol).

yes its a routine procedure. after this maintenance is over, most of your statuses should change from “registered” to “tested” hopefully

So my friend got his score today in the mail. He lives like 10 minutes from me, and yet…I didn’t receive mine. LAME.

^ Haha. Seriously

I’m confused on ACT PLUS WRITING. how does your essay play into your scores? Is it part of the composite? Can somebody explain!!

^No. Not part of the composite. It does not affect your english score, but there is a “combined English and writing score” (which also does not affect your composite).

It’s not part of the composite. You get a separate English/Writing score. For my previous ACT when my English score was 34 and Writing 10, my English/Writing score was 33.

If you want to convert your ACT score to a SAT score, the composite score and the English/Writing score is factored into the conversion. Composite is converted to CR+M and English/Writing is W.

How is english + writing calculated? What’s the equasion?

Here’s the table:

[ACT Writing Test : How to Calculate Your Combined English/Writing Score](<a href=“ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT”>ACT Test Preparation | Test Prep Resources | ACT)

It’s the average of English and writing.

When do scores come out??? I live in Florida.

Only two more days! I’ll be staying up until 1am EST tomorrow … I’m so anxious.

I have a quick question. I did a test center change the day of the exam, so is it likely that my scores will be delayed? If so, how long do you think it will be delayed for? Thanks.

I would hope you can get them tomorrow but it depends when your test center sends in the answer sheets/tests. I would guess there might be up to a week delay (my best guess but I could be wrong)

26 hours. Legit fahreaking out up in hurrrrrrr.

Got my scores yesterday, probably because I didn’t take writing this time…

I don’t think it’s important to share scores, but I’m very happy that I met a personal goal.
