ACT Last Week Preparation Questions...

Hello, the big day is coming up. I really would like a good score on the ACT. In October, I only scored a 21. I hopefully will do quite well in the English section being that I am very confident in that part. However, in the other sections, I am so confused. I am still trying to get the hang of this reading section. I would like a 27, if possible, on the ACT. Does anyone have any thing that I need to know for the math section. I've brushed up on a couple of formulas and things like that. Any calculator programs I need? As far as reading, the section I dread the most, what do you recommend that I do to prepare for it this last week. I have not even looked at the science section. Does anyone have any tips for me on that section?

I hopefully will get a:

30-32 in the English part

24-28 in the Math part

23-27 in the Reading Part

23-27 Science Part

I usually can never finish the math section, any advice? Is there any advice to get those scores I want above?

Thanks so much...

All helped appreciated...

Science section- read questions first, then look at the graphs. Don't look at the passages at all... (Except for the one with the whole thing in a passage form, with no graphs and etc. For that one, treat it like it is a reading passage and read the passage first, then answer the question.)

For math section, it's basically either you know it or you don't... Read the question first, and if know that you can't figure out the question with all the time in the world... take a guess... pick out your favorite letter or something. If you get to one where you know that you can get it.... but you need a lot of time, go to the end of the math section in the test booklet (not the answer sheet) and write down the numbers that you have to go back to later. So when you get to question 60 and you still have some time left, just look at the number right there convienently right by question 60, and then flip back to that question number.

Hoped this helps... any other questions?

Yes, how should I approach the reading section?

Definately, my worst subject is Reading... but most CCers consider that they read the passage first, then answer the question. It usually works differently between different people, but usually good readers first read the passage. Personally, I would do one last try JUST ON reading (so you don't get too tired for tommorow tonight) get a good sleep and good luck ;P
