ACT MATH....help

So I’m not what you would call a math person, I can do almost all the math problems on the test but because of the time I make silly mistakes and get them wrong. So my scores for math are always low, 22, 23, and 19 this last time because you know, I’m stupid. Anyway, would it be helpful to just do practice time math sections on the ACT? Without the rest of the test?

Absolutely! Work on your weaknesses and do as many math practices as you can. If you’re fine on the others, no reason to waste time on them. My daughter, a junior, is taking the test this Saturday. When she took it as a freshman, her English and reading were high, and math and science were low, similar to your math scores. She also tends to make silly mistakes. For this test I got her the books For the Love of ACT Science and For the Love of ACT Math. We haven’t worried about practicing English or reading at all because if she got the same scores now on those two as she did 2 years ago, we’d still be happy. (Of course hoping two more years of HS under her belt will make those even higher too though.)

The Official Red Book has been our go to guide. There’s also extra content you can get online and 100 questions with detailed explanations for each section. My S19 is also taking it this Saturday.
